Simple > Complex
You’ve been taught that statistics and detailed presentations are the best. It’s all wrong.
The vast majority of marketing messages are boring, cliché, and unbearable to read.
In the next 3 minutes I’m going to show you THE way to improve your ads, generate more traffic, and book more clients.
This is how I transformed my writing for the better (and you can too!):
Rule 1: DON’T CONFUSE THE ENEMY
I know it’s kind of backwards. But…
Have you ever gone to a mechanic shop, and just felt something was off with the pricing?
You came for an oil change, and he ends up telling you about problems with the flux capacitor, radiators, air filters and the intercooler.
Heck, maybe the car really has some problems. But how would you know?
He’s the expert, you just came because your Oil Light was on.
This is the same problem that 90% of business owners keep repeating.
And it dramatically lowers their conversions.
I remember my first blog posts and Instagram reels…
I was blasting my audience with USP’s, CTA’s, PAS & AIDA’s, WIIFM’s, Boosting Posts and retargeting.
This was my field. I felt comfortable.
But then my mentor told me about my horrible mistake: not putting myself in the SHOES of my AUDIENCE.
Man… I’ve heard ‘MAKE IT SIMPLE’ so many times I’ve had dreams about simplifying my texts.
Let’s say your back hurts. You go on facebook, and see two headlines:
“Spondylolisthesis and cervical radiculopathy can have many different symptoms.”
vs
“Does your back hurt?”
Most wouldn’t even consider clicking on the first one.
Whenever you’re making ads or writing marketing messages, you need to ask yourself:
“If I had no clue what XYZ is about, would I understand my message?”
You know how programmers have their rubber duck?
Best if you get a friend to review it and get some feedback.
MAKE IT SIMPLE,
Max
